Venue
As a missionary organization particularly focused on serving the youth and hosting combined men’s gatherings, Rooipeper Ministries also warmly invites any church, congregation, Christian group, or youth club to get in touch with us and book the use of our venue at Vergenoegd Farm—free of charge.
You can organize either a day gathering or a multi-day sleepover camp, depending on availability. We have tents, sleeping bags, and eating utensils for up to 30 people. However, if you bring additional equipment, the capacity can increase to about 50. Day gatherings, of course, can accommodate even more people.
Guests set up camp inside the large pack shed building, while most activities—such as braais, talks, and games—take place in the beautiful garden. Please bring your own cooking utensils, along with a gas or two-plate electric stove for meal preparation, as well as everything needed for washing up. As a ministry, we will try to assist with one or two meals.
Our facilities include separate ablution blocks for men and women, with hot showers. Campers are welcome to explore Vergenoegd Farm under the supervision of their adult leaders. However, swimming in the deep ground dam, which is far from the homestead, is strictly prohibited.
As a working guava farm, our harvest season runs from mid-April to mid-November. During this time, we can only accommodate day gatherings in the garden (weather permitting) or weekend camps from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, as the pack shed is in full use during the week. Outside of harvest season, overnight stays are possible any day of the week.
One of Vergenoegd Farm’s greatest advantages is its close proximity to Cape Town, making it an accessible and affordable option—especially for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity for such a breakaway camp.
Rooipeper Ministries has also been privileged to host regional and provincial meetings and workshops for organizations active in social development. In addition to receiving visitors, we occasionally organize our own training workshops and gatherings for youth, men, and families.
